Wolves

Wolves is our Year 3  class. Miss Morley is currently on Maternity leave. Miss McLeod is covering as class teacher supported by Teaching Assistants Mrs Chatterton and Miss Gill.

The morning session starts at 9.00am until 12.15pm and the afternoon session runs from 1.00pm to 3.15pm.

In a morning, the children are taught the core subjects of Maths and English. During these sessions, the children can work either as a whole class, in small groups, or 1-1 with an adult.

During the afternoon session, the children undertake topic related work which covers subjects such as history, geography, science, art, music and PE. These topics change either on a half-termly or termly basis. Additionally, all children have weekly Music and French lessons.

PE is taught on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. All children require a PE kit including pumps or trainers on these days.

Wolves have a weekly library session on Friday. Children use this session to change their home lending books and also gather information on their topic.

The children in Wolves class have regular educational visits around the local area and further afield which may vary according to the topic being studied, in addition all children in year 3/4 have a day visit to Cliffe house in the summer term.

Home work is given out regularly on Fridays and is expected to be completed and returned by Tuesday. Homework includes a list of spellings to learn as well as an English or Math’s activity. Children are expected to read at home each evening and should return their home reading diary on a regular basis so it can be monitored by the class teacher.
